Rose, it has nothing to do with bacteria, so anibiotics won't help. It's all about stress and nervous system. Try to remove all sources of stress from your life, as much as possible. And I dont think It will ever go away - be ready co live with it and do not bother too much about it. Just make yor life less stressful. Solve sources of stress and not the stress itself. Dont run from problems but solve the problems.

Just found this thread and I'm so glad I'm not alone with this issue! I've had this problem for 3 years now for me it's my right ear that gets red. It feels like burning and sometimes my ear gets swollen too. This happens when I'm hot, sweating, nervous, stressed and sleeping. Cold water, ice and using a table fan for a while helps but this happens almost every day. I've been to doctors and one of them prescribed me cortisone cream that had antibiotic stuff in it. It worked wonders but after the 2 week treatment period all symptoms came back. Then I tried antibiotics to make sure it's not an infection but they did nothing. In the winter it's not as bad as it is in the summer and no doctor could figure out why.
